About Jockey Club of Kenya

The Jockey Club of Kenya is the governing body of thoroughbred racing. Our focus is on providing leadership and enabling innovation within racing to ensure the exciting sport retains its pre-eminent position in Kenya, Africa and internationally. Jockey Club of Kenya offers you an opportunity to watch horse racing at the Nairobi racecourse in Karen. Its only 25 a minutes' drive from the city centre and is located along the Ngong Road besides the Ngong Road Forest between the estates of Woodley, Langata and Karen.It is operated by the Jockey Club of Kenya. Ngong racecourse is a right hand turf track of about 2400 metres. It includes a six furlong straight and two chutes of 2060 metres and 1800 metres. The facility also includes sand and dirt training tracks both inside the turf track.

Although formerly a closed organization for only the very prominent racing personalities, the club is now a modern Membership club, open to all. Membership of the Jockey Club of Kenya guarantees you all the prestige and tradition that has been associated with horse racing in Kenya.
